FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Here are the most common questions we are asked about our services. If you have additional questions, please feel free to contact us (540) 316-6362.

Length of Therapy

There is no specific recommendation for length of therapy. It all depends on what you want and need. Some people come to therapy with a very specific problem (i.e., reduce anxiety or learn how to set healthy boundaries) and once the problem is solved, they are content to end therapy. However, other issues (trauma / PTSD) may require more sessions. Together with your therapist, you will decide what’s best for you. Remember, this is your therapy / your journey, and you are always in charge. We believe in educating and empowering our clients.

What is Psychoeducation and how is it helpful?

Psychoeducation is a form of education which primarily focuses on mental health. We believe people are better able to make decisions when given information about causes, symptoms, coping strategies and ways to heal. We don’t use psychobabble with you. We talk like real people who care…about you – because we do!

What is Life, Relationship, and Career Coaching?

The life coaching model is different from therapy. Using the life coaching model, we work with our clients to provide you with a continuum of care over months or years. Some clients choose to work with their therapist monthly, bi-monthly or on an as needed basis. Just like your car needs a tune-up, so do you and your relationships. One thing the pandemic has shown us, is that everyone needs a therapist in their back pocket. Life, career, and relationships are complicated, and we are not meant to travel through life without support (not just your friend’s opinion). Our counselors will work alongside of you to provide ongoing insight, support, and suggestions on how to improve on your mental health, life, career, and relationships. Traveling through life with a trained support person (counselor / life coach) will make the journey more enjoyable and less stressful. You will never regret investing in yourself.

Do you take Insurance?

We are not in-network with any insurances. We are a small, self-pay, boutique style private practice serving women, couples, families, and girls of all ages. Some of our clients file for out-of-network reimbursement when seeing a licensed therapist. You will need to check with your insurance company for more information on how to file for out-of-network reimbursement. Our center does not file for out-of-network reimbursement. All payment is due at the time of service.
